The staredowns

CJ and Lola are getting more used to each other. Well, actually CJ is getting more used to Lola. Lola could really care less, she just wants to sniff him and play with him since they're about the same size right now. Nonetheless, it's great to see them warming up to each other -- for the most part.

Took Lola to the park today to play fetch with a ball and frisbee. The challenge was that this was away from the home, in a completely open environment. It was great to see her stay focused on the ball or frisbee and not be distracted by everything else. She did such a good job and she's come a long way since her first walk at Melissa's(our breeder).

CJ update

CJ is finally learning that Lola will not harm him, and that she's just a lovable furball like he is. He's still a little weary about her, and will hiss at her & and stuff, but as long as they keep thier distance he's fine. At least he's not stuck the in the garage anymore and is venturing around the house and feeling at home. We just don't want him to feel completely displaced by Lola.

The Catlin kids brought gifts for Lola.

The Catlin kids; Audrey and Will, were very excited to meet Lola. They brought her gifts from Milwaukee, and enjoyed playing with her. Lola was so good with them and learned that they play with, and pet, Lola while she is in a calm and submissive state.

A morning at the beach

The Catlins are visiting us from Milwaukee for a week. We spent a morning at the beach with the Catlin family enjoying the water, shells, surfers, and playing with Lola. What a great morning it was and are happy that the Catlins are experiencing the So.Cal. lifestyle with us.

Lola's first bath

We have begun Lola's weekly "hygene" routine including: a batch, ear cleaning, and teeth brushing. This was her first bath. A little unsure about the whole process, but she warmed up to the idea and loved being bundled up in the towel afterward. What a good little girl.

Lola is definitely getting acclimated to her new surroundings. She loves playing the front yard, going on walks, and playing with the grass, leaves, and sticks. We love the fact that she can play in the front yard and not leave the premises on her own volition.
